Green targeted longer-term refinancing operations (green TLTROs)
A potential European Central Bank programme that makes the interest rates that the European Central Bank charges banks conditional on how much green loans they issue, which are consistent with the EU Taxonomy. Green TLTROs would drive banks' lending towards greener housing, manufacturing and clean energy sectors and enable small and medium businesses and households to access affordable loans that will help us fight climate change. Green TLTROs are currently being considered by the European Central Bank as a potential future policy.
